Receptionist
SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to provide the first positive interaction with the public, to manage the front desk and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required as assigned.
Receives and greets visitors and directs them to the proper party.
Answers questions from callers or visitors of a routine or general nature.
Obtains preliminary information from applicants for housing assistance programs.
Operates telecommunications system by following manufacturer’s instructions for house phone and console operation.
Competes basic word-processing as well as inputs data into housing software system.
Assists in processing outgoing mail, as needed.
Keeps a safe and clean reception area.
Performs other duties, as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent
No experience required
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Daily movements include sitting; standing; reaching and grasping; operating computers and other office equipment; moving about the properties;
Attending onsite meetings and offsite meetings.
The employee must be able to exchange information in person, in writing, and via telephone.
The employee must occasionally transport up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office environment
- May experience a range in temperatures and other weather conditions.
